Foundation Why Give

A dedicated donor helping out at a West Texas Rehab event to support rehabilitation services.

West Texas Rehab has the resources to treat almost 1,000 different diagnoses and serves over 850 patients and clients each working day. Not one patient, in the history of the organization, has been turned away because of the inability to pay. It is a story of community responsibility and a reservoir of love that inspires us all.

“I've had a lot of experience with the Rehab. As a parent of a patient, as a referring doctor, even as a board member. And I can tell you, they're the best around, just very dedicated to patient care, very caring. And in the group of people that take the mission very seriously.”

Foundation Ways to Give

Cash, Check or Online Donation

A gift to West Texas Rehab can be as simple as mailing a check, making a donation online, by bank draft, or credit card. Your donation is completely tax deductible.

Real Estate

When you make an outright gift of real property held for more than one year, you obtain an income tax charitable deduction equal to the property’s full fair market value. This deduction allows you to offset the cost of making the gift and may free cash that otherwise would have been used to pay taxes. You also may avoid capital gains taxes on the property’s appreciation.

Wills

This can include liquid assets, real estate, and personal property. Most people make a will so that they can share their possessions with people they care for, or institutions they believe in. In effect, your will becomes the document directing your last intentions and assures that your wishes are followed. We highly recommend that you utilize the services of an attorney to prepare your will.

Personal Property

When considering a gift, remember that valuable collections, works of art, and other forms of tangible personal property can be used as contributions. By donating such items during your lifetime, you can reduce the size of your taxable estate and you may also receive a charitable income tax deduction in the year of the gift.

Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds

If you donate appreciated securities to West Texas Rehab, you can avoid the capital gains taxes and you may be able to take the full market value of the gift as a charitable deduction. The maximum deduction is limited to 30% of your adjusted gross income. If you are unable to take the entire deduction in one year, you may carry the excess deduction forward for five additional years.

Single Text Section

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.
