Occupational Therapy

West Texas Rehab Center’s occupational therapists are licensed, dedicated professionals who work one-on-one with patients to improve their quality of life by helping them accomplish daily activities, such as self-dressing, self-feeding, or interacting with others. Our therapists are trained to custom fabricate a variety of splints and orthotic devices for the upper extremities (fingers, hands, arms) to meet the very specific therapeutic needs of the patient. Additionally, they routinely collaborate with patients and their family members to choose adaptive equipment or techniques to allow the patient to accomplish tasks.

Why Choose Us?

Rehab therapists have the training and advanced certifications to properly evaluate and implement hands-on therapeutic programs geared to get the patient as mobile and as pain-free as possible so they can return to independent self-care and desired activities as quickly as possible. WTRC is known for its personal care with patients, who are seen one on one by a therapist. Additionally, the department has state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to provide the high quality of care for its patients. The patient’s health and well-being is the number one priority.

How can we help?

An evaluation is performed on the first visit. The therapist will gather information regarding the condition treated. He or she will perform tests and measurements (range of motion, muscle strength, flexibility, posture, and others) to determine the deficit. Given this information, the therapist will develop an individual program to speed the recovery and return to the highest level of function possible.
