Rehab 2013 Raises Over 1.2 Million Dollars….One of the Best Ever!

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center 43th annual telethon and auction Saturday raised over one point two million dollars, to be more exact, $1,202,646. Last year’s show raised the all time high at just over $1.33 million dollars. This year’s total is the fourth highest ever raised.  In 2008 the show raised $1.27 million and Rehab 2007 raised $1.26 million to rank 3rd.

Director of Donor Relations Dan Huggins expressed special thanks to everyone who had a hand in helping the REHAB raise the funds that go to support patients at facilities in Abilene, San Angelo and Ozona.  Huggins said “Each year is a special challenge but especially this year with such a great number last year.  We had a special one-time gift last year that really raised our total.  We are so pleased with this year’s results.”

The five hour long live television show, which was broadcast into 10 television markets, featured country music stars Jana Kramer and Aaron Watson along with host Charlie Chase, Red Steagall,  Bill and Susan Hayes, Brad Maule and Twyla Foreman.

The telethon’s Official Sponsor again this year was Suddenlink Communications.  The Toteboard Sponsor was First Financial Bank.   NTS Communications was the auction sponsor and McM Elegante Suites was the host hotel.

The internet auction, which is included in the overall total raised was about $300,000 which is close to last year’s total.

Winning bidders from the internet auction are being called today with distribution beginning this afternoon from 2-5 pm and tomorrow 10 am to 4 pm at the Abilene Civic Center.  San Angelo winning bidders can pick up their items Tuesday at the REHAB in San Angelo.

Thanks a Million!
