West Texas Rehab Telethon 2017 Raises $1.327 Million for Patient Care

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s (WTRC) 47th annual telethon and auction Saturday raised over $1.327 million to support its mission of providing top quality patient care in West Texas, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Along with the live show, the evening included an online auction featuring over 450 items, live phone bank, children’s activities, and even an indoor mechanical bull!

President & CEO Steve Martin expressed thanks to everyone who had a hand in helping WTRC raise the funds that go to support patients at facilities in Abilene, San Angelo, and Ozona.  Martin said “We continue to be amazed and very grateful for the tremendous community support Rehab receives.  Everyone’s generosity means we can continue to provide exceptional care to those who need our services, regardless of their financial situations.”

Local efforts were conducted by 27 area communities, in combination with staff pledges, board member support, the annual Phonathon, and countless individuals and businesses, these results made the annual Telethon a successful event that will provide much-needed support for patient care throughout West Texas in 2017.

The live telecast, which was broadcast into 9 television markets, featured up and coming country music artist Lauren Alaina and TV-Series “Nashville” star Charles Esten, along with host Charlie Chase, Red Steagall, Shelly Mowery, Jennifer Douglas Smith, Brad Maule, and Twyla Foreman.

The telethon’s Official Sponsors this year were Suddenlink Communications & Capital Farm Credit.  The Toteboard Sponsor was Edward Jones/Gary and Connie Decker.  NTS Communications was the auction sponsor. For more information on West Texas Rehab, visit WestTexasRehab.org or call 325-223-6300.
