Hospice of the Big Country remembers loved ones with butterfly memorial
A special memorial was held Saturday at Nelson Park by Hospice of the Big Country.
Each butterfly resembled a loved one who was lost; 200 painted butterflies were released each one emerging from an envelope with someone’s name on it.

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s 44th annual telethon and auction Saturday raised over one point two eight million dollars, to be exact, $1,280,765 edging last year’s total of $1,202,646. The show in 2012 show raised the all time high at just over $1.33 million dollars.

Recipient of the funds for the scholarship will be determined by the West Texas Rehab Selection Committee. All funds collected in any given year do not have to be awarded and may be placed in an account to draw interest for future scholarships.
